I think it should be black 
My project car started with plain doors, i swapped them for S2 doors with bad rubber strips, then i found a saloon with different (more rounded) but good rubber strips and the correct colour. These are what are fitted now. I think it should have the rubber strips and being black it doesnt stand out.
