photobucket will reset tomorrow no worries...are you trying to convert a B5 FWD to quattro? is that an AAN in a B5? how hard was that conversion?

the B5 was a propper nightmare from start to finish and is still giving me grief now, keep snapping the snub mount i made out of nissan skyline rear suspension bushes. problem is the cam cover and naked t/belt hits the bonnet.

im converting my Operation White Rat B4 FWD 1.9tdi avant to 2.5tdi 5 pot TD and quattro.

the radiator on the A4 sits in front of the lights lol

took me 3 months of working on the car EVERY day at my garage lol

                    Few pics

looks good though custom engine mounts? looks like you solved the rad problem the same way I did...any cooling issues? mine overheated at the track - gotta get me another fan up front...

mounts are all chassis mounted from the rails unlike a normal A4

rad is a one off with twin fans now on an adjustable thermoswitch

                        twin side mounted intercoolers

with a nackered cam sensor and no power over 5000revs i did a 14.4 1/4 and 0-60 in 5.4 secs with a bone stock AAN and 0.7 bar boost.

now runs open wastegate pipe and 1.2bar otherwise STD AAN

not too shabby but it flys now, especialy with the origional 6sp 2.5tdi `box! uses all that torque so well.

What flywheel/clutch did you use with the a4 box and is it 6sp?

pics help so much, nice one and awesome project, keep the updates coming mate

when the 80 is quattro i can put all my go faster bits on the a4 but the clutch is dead now so looking for lighter flywheel/clutch setup lol

Cool, I like the idea of an A4 with 5 pots.

WRT your B4 you might like my thread on MG

Barely finished one project and already knee deep in another. Just finished pulling the motor and transmission out of my B4 90 quattro. I was going to enjoy the V6 a bit longer but the water pump failed on it... and since you have to take the front end apart to get to it, might as well just yank...

                                some more footage....

                                few things to notice:

                                - smokey exhaust - seems to only do it on idle at a specific spot in the temp range - once the car has warmed up the smoke disappears...the car runs fine otherwise
                                - funky idle - still no idea why the idle isn't stable - I`ve completely eliminated the PCV system and vented to a catch can as seen in video - there's no path for any fuel/oil air to go into the intake at the moment...
                                - oil pressure switch isn't wired which is why the light is on all the time - the oil temp gauge doesn't work either - checked over the wiring - looks like I've got the two sensors mixed up so this should be fixed today...
                                - boost hits about 20psi and drops out after that
                                - some brake bias adjustment on gravel - the back end comes out nice - even with RT615s the car pulls strong and steady on a loose surface...
                                - two fans seem to do the trick - they're wired to a DPDT switch so I can change the direction of flow depending on idle/motion condition....pulling works better at idle, where pushing is of course used when driving...
                                - hit a rev limiter or overboost protection in 1st gear around 6k rpm...doubt it's a rev limiter so more likely overboost...can't duplicate in other gears...
                                - blow through MAF works fine...no codes from ECU
