Parts wise it probably works out slightly differently for us, as the GT/CQ bits are more plentiful...

As for the engine bay with the AAN it looks like this...

We 'lower' mounted the large intercooler, then 'removed' most of the front bumper, rather than place it up behind the 'grille' mainly to keep the standard (Ur, not CQ) front end, this gave us the option to modify the front end for an auxiliary radiator if heat buildup was a problem with the 'offset' radiator because of the standard AAN inlet manifold...

We stuck with the standard AAN inlet manifold because we've got previous experience of modified inlet manifolds leaning off individual cylinders on Ur quattros and didn't fancy a rebuild due to an imbalance of flow... That said, the radiator/heat management did become an issue, and in the end became a bespoke build aluminum multi-core radiator with a 14" 3 speed Kenlow attached... To date this has been fine, and the need for the 'auxiliary radiator' not required....

      The car is quattro.Finaly.
Today i managed to install the supports for the engine mountings. The gl 1.8 engine was sitting on the subframe not on the longitudinal members so i had to work more.
The b4cq supports fitted great. The efort was getting them from b4.I had to cut them with longitudinal member and after that remove the metal of member and let only clean support.
Welded on the car and got the engine FOR THE FIRST TIME in the car
Engine will be down again for bay cleaning painting,
The lower front cross member needed to be cut so the engine got in there.I will keep the outside of it exactly as it is because a nice grill comes into it and under it a nice original skirt is mounted.Only the interior will be mod for the pulley to fit and also some mod for the engine front mount to be added.
I will keep the front as it is,and use the old thin bumper. The engine will get out after welding everything back only if the gbox is out.Engine will get straight up.
I do not have finances now for a quality bodykit and will stay with the spartan look of the old thin bumper model.I do not like the front b2cq large bumper at all.
The rear large bumper model is nice and will hide my exhaust that my current rear thin bumper is not.But i do not know how it will look with 2 kind of bumpers.
More to work.Supports for brake/fuel lines, supports for exhaust, supports for intercooler, supports for radiator, supports for the fuel tank because it does not fit in the old place by a fiew cm.Clean it all, rubber coating, painting. And when it seems to be done:suspensions,brakes,rs2setup...
I saw that a slim intercooler will fit under the stock grill and this way i will keep the front look unchanged.
      Tons of work to do
In one photo you can see the engine upper is 2 cm from hood in the front. Is it normal?
Other with handgloves made me laugh.I found them in garrage. They are clean and my hands dirty.I can not use gloves

Started working at my own rollcage finaly, after making others happy. The main rollbar i ordered from a rollcage suplyer because i did not find any seamless steel tube(less that 5 tons) 45x2.5 or 50x2mm fia aprooved. The rest is 40x2mm fia aprooved tube that i found to buy.Fia aprooved seat arrived and mounted it in the car.The space for head with helmet is small. To keep clearance with lateral rollbar and front transversal m member i need to get the seat aprox 15 cm back from normal position.God this car is so small in the front upper part.I need to mod my pedals. In the new position of the seat the pedals will fit great if they were flor mounted type and operating like bmw accelerator pedals. But how this system feels?I want to buy a clutch/dual cylinder brake/accelerator pedal block but i would like an advice about model/brand.I saw some nice tiltons but the price gets near 1000 usd. This should not be much when we are talking about brakes, but i would also like to know if there are other brake pedal/cylinder quality producers, maybe a little small price.
Also the steering column needs to go lower. This is a problem in this car because it has that articulation that operates only when the 2 parts are inline. But i guess can be moded with a mk2 golf part of column.Any experiences?
You can see in the pictures that lateral half rollbar can not get near the A pillers(in fact i managed to get aprox 1 cm more).
On other cars they got realy close to the a piller because it was almost straight. But this cq is special and that is why it looks so good. They can not be bend to follow the piller because for conform made rollcages FIA says that the rollbars need to have only one bend with its lower vertical part. How do you get that?

        Thank you,

A little help with pedals assembly anyone?
          Thank you!
I have bend another semi lateral rollbar and got its final position. With helmet on the distance from helmet to lateral rollbar is about 10cm.If i get my head to the left helmet gets just under rollbar. So tight. What are your experiences?
