the small dip was much higher and it was not possible to completely remove it,wg wear i think.
you want to mean higher compression ratio or lower?

That is a sweet looking power curve, Peter :-)
Do you have any 60-130mph or 100-200kmh numbers on it yet?
The car should be a very good match for a 997.2TT or even a 997.2 Turbo S.

unfortunately (or not?!) it ha to race agains a highly tuned porsche turbo, which easily runs 10.4.
I think this 525 is enough for 10.7-8 with a good launch, and fast shifts, especially from 1 to 2.this is where the owner lacks/lags most...

          no acceleration times...

Quick question, this turbo is not a tad to small for drag application ? and why you only gain 40hp , with 0.8bar increase in boost ?

weight, start ready, i think around 1400-1450kg.

car is not a dedicated drag car,as its driven on the streets too,and also on slalom rally events, just a compromise fun car, that has now more than 40.000km in the engine.

there is no 0.8bar boost increase, the 1.6bar graph is from a 1.6bar run, however the 2.3bar title is misleading because it only present at the top torque. At maximum power there is "only" 2 bar turbo boost.

I still think that the 0.4bar increase should make more power,im after ideas why it stops there.

Speaking from a mapping perspective, you just up boost until it stops making power.
When you had 1.6 bar pressure, you were probably running a lot more timing.

Because you are usually knock limited - the more boost you run, the less timing you can run.
More boost has diminishing returns and at one point you reach an equilibrium, where upping boost, adding fuel and reducing timing does not make more power anymore.
You also get higher IAT's with more boost, so it is not a linear power increase, as hotter air is less dense.

So I am not surprised at all at the difference between 2 bar and 1.6 bar.
If you use race fuel or alcohol injection, the difference will be more pronounced.

maybe these 1.6 bars put the operating range within the high efficiency islands of its compressor map as prj noted. The less efficient the hotter the air will be.

examined the logs of the dynoruns, the 1.6bar is much more 1.4-1.5,the so called 2.3 is 2bar at top.there is about 7-8Celsius AT difference, lambda is the same.
0.5bar gives 40hp at those levels.

car just did a 10.9 run.no details about the run yet, they will post it later.

That means it still is running in a considerable efficient place on the compressor map.
