After seeing this thread, thought I would hack up a bumper just for experiment purposes

    Section cut out

Then trimmed back the waffle to allow the plate to sink in further, then a sheet of fibreglass to start with.

Then a skim of fibreglass filler to get a solid base to start with.

I have left a recess at the top to allow the re-use of the original coupe number plate light.

That's as far is I got today, I will do a little more tomorrow and try and get it in primer so you all can get an idea of how it looks

CliveH sorry to hijack your thread with these but it gives you an idea of what it looks like using a coupe bumper. I will try and get it in colour and fitted to the car at the weekend, maybe better/cheaper alternative for you to do than sourcing an RS2 one and cutting it up.

          Fine filler in

In high build primer ready for flatting and finishing.

i tend to agree on that. It would be much cheaper and by the use of the rear rs2 center section, it will still 'look' rs2

by the way, with the filler use, you can lose the lines that the s2 bumper has and thus make it lean as the rs2 is

You could but I am not going to on this one

The other bonus is that the exhaust cut out is still in the correct location for coupe

If I was doing it, I would go with Brian's suggestion. use the S2 rear bumper but graft a number plater surround into it and also delete the trim line in the bumper. Get an RS2 reflector panel to fit between the rear lights and you are done.

Right guys, this project will soon be taking the next step, booked into MRC week commencing 13th February for cambelt service, RS2 engine upgrades, and some other routine maintenance

The 'cosmetics' are still on the cards but will come later...

Good to heard about you Clive hehe.

Why do you need a rs2 maf?

Good luck with your near project!

                            Hi Tomas!

Just assuming, perhaps in my ignorance, that RS2 airbox & MAF would be best suited for the rest of the RS2 setup?
