    Fiat 131 Abarth replica with AAN

    Greetings from Finland!

    Desided to tell something about my ongoing project to get some help and advise with engine from experts. Car is Fiat 131 Mirafiori -76, I´m third owner, owned since 2002. Car was totally original with 1300 OHV engine,and inspected when bought, but still very rusty (like these allways are). Allmost immediately I changed there 2000TC engine with 5 speed gearbox, firstly N/A, later turboed it with double Dellortos etc. It made about 200hp, very fun to drive, car weights 950kg! Then blown head gasget made me start to strip it all over, to overhaul whole car and make better allround over the skin, leaving original look to make it as sleeper. I started to weld it properly, made chassis legs to roll body over. Then I get better job, and things get out of hands, I started to make it car of MY dreams! It´s still going to be road car, driven only at shiny days, and maybe some drag and track for fun.

    Here is about how my project is now;

    Body;

    *Full Abarth Stradale (road version) classfiber bodykit from Poland, includes all panels except roof and doors
    *Totally welded, exthaust pipe tunnel on CO drivers side, firewall moved back about 10cm from center. Firewall crossmember, gearbox and driveshaft tunnel made from steel tube.
    *Fully removable front, to help to get engine and gearbox off
    -still to come; rollcage, polycarbonate windows, spare wheel space modified to race tank, rear suspension turrets to be lifted

    Engine and related;

    *AAN from Audi S6 -96
    *81.5 Wiseco custom pistons with 22mm S710 wrist pins from Virtala Racing, compression ratio blamed to be 8.5, but I think they are more like 8.0, need to measure
    *Eagle rods from Virtala Racing
    *Nira i3+ engine management
    *7A camshafts
    *New hydraulic lifters
    *Holset HX40 super with #14 exthaust side
    *Exthaust manifold by my friend Maza
    *46mm Tial copy wastegate
    *50mm Tial copy bow
    *original AAN intake manifold
    *Big BMC cone filter
    *3" aluminium boost pipes
    *600x300x70 china cooler
    *BIG aluminium radiator
    *Bling factory flywheel with new starter ring gear
    *240mm 4 puck sinter plate by Ape-import
    *Modified oilpan
    *7A valve cover
    -still to come; boring the block and all other machining to engine, little headwork, adjustable cam gears, stiffer valve springs, EV14 1000cc injectors, 034 or LS2 or RS4 V8 coils, Sachs 707 pressure plate etc.

    Looking for something between 500-600 crank hp

    Brakes, suspensions and driveline;

    *Wilwood 4 piston front calibers
    *TEIN Monoflex fully adjustable coilover suspension
    *Fiat 131 Racing 5 speed gearbox with Abarth linkage
    *Toyota Hilux 4.3 rear axle with LSD
    -still to come; much still missing parts

    Rims;

    *BBS RS 17x8, will bought wider outer lips to make them 17x9 front and 17x10 back

    Couple of pictures, more can be found at; http://kuvablogi.com/blog/10520/7/

            Love the 131 in his rallye trim.
            I like your skills around the tubing, anyone who ever tried to make a exhaust mani from stock bends knows that this is some craftmenship!
            And a HX40 on an IL5 is always a good combo.

              Thanks! There seems to be no absolut knowledge how much gearbox can handle, but it is quite strong. Rumours told one 503hp, and this for sure has same box, 400hp alfa 2.5 v6 turbo;

              I think it depends how you use it, we will see
