nothing wrong with a 3b. officially faster than a stock aby.
i have both and the 3b feels more aggresive. good luck!!

Depends what you are going to do with the S2, if your keeping it stockish under 400 bhp nothing wrong with them. Over this the dizzy becomes an issue as is fidning someone to map the car.

Make sure you do the metal dizzy drive mod and check the rotor, few threads about uprated rotor to prevent the chances of spark hop.

I don't like the 5 speed, prefer the 6 speed ratio and dual mass

1st thing 1st get it vag-com checked. Get rid of boost leaks, get silicone hoses on it and pressure test the system.

Problem with cheap cars is they normally end up costing you more! time will tell

As long as you've got lots of time, money and the ability to learn, you'll be fine End result is something rare and pretty special so stick with it but perhaps don't go mad with the spending till it drives properly as standard.

Where about a are you? Might help you locate some assistance

Do a search on the hoses, I think they get a good reception. Not convinced by the lime green though

Do a project thread if you're planning on doing lots to it, even if it's as 'simple' as putting it back to standard and making it run properly

Is this Andy and Daves old red one? If it is , the ad is correct it was a bit of a weapon but it did get used enthusiastically.

same guys but is blue xxi 233i they did offer me the red one but never followed up began to consider s4 as you can get custom 6th and push 200mph which was awfully inviting. but the guy who had this one called me and he we are she is tatty upon apearence and has been pushed just as hard i am sure but when we got it up in the air was exceptionally clean bar a few oil spots here and there

Roose hoses are supposed to be very good, and pretty much off the shelf. So short lead times.

after waiting a week to collect the car due to work and family commitments i finally have her at home. i have been washing her with my daughter who i hope will also develop a love affair with it too as will make spending money on it easier as my partner wont want to upset my 5 year old by saying its too expensive. I only have wends and Sundays to work on her at the moment so i will be playing with smaller items but in three or four months when i have put a good bit of money aside will take some holiday time and spend a couple off weeks under a ramp in mates garage pics will be up soon. so i will be prepared for the barrage of disapproval as she is not in showroom condition but under tatty paint lies a clean example or so i believe.

i will be starting a project thread and will begin with a list of parts i will need
i had a sneaking suspicion that my partner had been too nice in regards to me getting a new toy and i was right to be so will need to settle her demands before i buy any parts so if your are able to help me with my list please understand i may earn the money but i have to ask to spend it

Nothing wrong with a 3B, if you're planning to go over 400 hp it's best to go for the aby type ignition, but if you're going for that kind of hp you will already be spending lot's of $$$$$ so I doubt that converting it to the other ignition would really be an issue in that case, especially since the 3B will have been a cheaper purchase than the aby...
Troubleshooting is also easier on a 3B

And a lot can be done with the engine: Something to aspire to

ok so after a bit of preening and sorting the hoses i took her out for my first trip slightly disapointed as hoses didnt sort the problem ol no real top end so on the way home took some country lanes and had to climb a hill to get there it was prety long and quite steep so i set off pushing her up and felt she wasnt pulling as it did earlyer then a distinct cluth aroma became aparent so i floored it to be sure so i am prety sure i have a minced clutched which is nice realy as i wanted to do this job and also means hours of tracing problems and head scrating is know gonna be busted knucles and an ideal excuse to get right to the heart straight away rock on
