    as2q ABY Coupe Project

    Hi Lads

Well its coming up for a year now that I've had my S2 and thought it was time to start a thread of my own and share some pics and info on the car. I bought it last january from a german car dealership down in luton you guys might of seen it on the bay, it came with loads of history and was completley standard. For piece of mind I got the timing belt done along with the water pump and a full service, also got new discs and pads all round a new thermostat and 4 new tyres. She was really fresh looking underneath and the paint is in fairly good nik aswell I think it was garaged all its days. So after a couple of months I decided I wanted a full exhaust system and to be a little different I went for the dual exit, I cut my bumper and got my boot cavity cut and plated...

I went for 3" turbo back, got my downpipe made up from charlie at prospeed and the rest of the system was done by Turriff tyres, it's a powerflow system with a 200cpi sports cat and grade 304 stainless...

Sorry for the poor quality pics they were taking off my phone..

I've actually developed a little exhaust rattle from somewhere coming from the front, need to investigate.
Other things I've done is replaced the horrible thin 4 spoke steering wheel for a nice thicker 3 spoke (airbag) have one of Rusty's OEM style boost gauges installed in the centre vent, I bought a chipped ecu from Dmitri to unleash some pony's, I also bought the porsche front brake upgrade and A8 discs from a forum member and also a set of heated seats which have still to be fitted. Other jobs still to be done is fit this 034 short shift, change side repeaters, replace lower door mouldings, getting this heated front windscreen fitted once I get it, get a nice set of 18" alloys, also looking into upgrading the suspension and replace the bushes with powerflex ones. This year I'm wanting to up the power to around 450bhp I have a shopping list of parts to get so once I have the funds I will get round to it. I will go for the RS2 bumper and get a full respray done at some point. I've probably missed a few things but will update as I go, here is a couple of pics as she looks now...

Would also like to say it's a brilliant forum very helpful and a good bunch of guys

    Cheers

    Martin

Remember seeing your post somewhere about the downpipe, that looked top quality!

So does the rest of the exhaust and I'm sure will be a very interesting project as it progresses. Good luck

Will definitely consider it but as I recall it was a straight through and not the same as factory? Memory is failing

Should be 2.5" on ABY/3b, 2.75" on RS2. As far as I know my exhaust is a stainless steel 2.5" powerflow using stock ABY downpipe.

Glad to hear that the downpipe works! That jig was made up off my car about 5 years ago and must have survived at least one workshop move!

I like the twin exhaust exit, it would be a nice way to integrate a cutout valve and small silencer, so that you can switch the noise on and off.

Hi Andy, yeah I remember having a conversation with you about the cutout valve just before you had yours done, I decided not to bother for the time being there's loads of other stuff I'm wanting to get done first. After seeing the video of yours though it sounds angry! I might go for it further down the line!
