I was going to write a list of extra parts and likely failures on the V6 over the I5, but I may be some time, and I'm bound to miss out a load of things.

Actually, I am thinking the V6 would be more suited to the LoTUS.

                  thanks...

Which engine did you pick? I am exactly in the same predicament... Leaning, of course, toward 20v. But still considering 2.7. If you installed the 2.7, I would be particularly interested in learning about any modifications to the oil pan or subframe.

I know its not a Lotus but it is the same principle. I'm currently swapping my Toyota MR2 zzw30 with a MK5 R32 engine and VW 6 speed gearbox Its a very compact engine and gearbox combo. Is 1cm shorter than the toyota 4 cilinder and 5 speed gearbox

layuca i modified the oilpan, so the filter is placed away from the oilpan so i dont have to change the frame. The v6 is short and lays low in the lotus good for roadhandling

                          v6

Thanks folks. Nice set up in the MR2.

Kelys, when you have a minute, I would really like a pic or two of the modification you made on the oil pan. I am in no hurry. I am looking to start working on this next Fall.

I am glad to hear you didn't have to modify the frame. I take it you used an 01e fwd tranny.
