warm soapy water on the seat belts. They will work like new then.

Fully extend the seat belts and put a few clothes pegs on them to prevent wind back. Put a bucket of hot water with some Mr Muscle in it onto the seat and immerse the belt for an hour or so. Then a light scrub with a nail brush, and your belts will be as good as new. You will be amazed as to how much crap ends up in the water.Comment

After picking my front seats up from the trimmers, who did a great job in repairing a busted boulster, fag burn and retrimmed the rear seat side boulsters in leather as they were fabric, i finally got my interior pretty much all done today after 3 solid days at it. Here are some before and after.

Afters

So happy with it. It feels like a completely different car. I could almost be happy with driving it around with its beat up exterior just because the interior is so nice to sit it
Didn't get chance to put the dash carbon on as I'm nackered and didn't feel brave enough to drill the dash whilst tired.
As you can see I'm after a decent 5speed gear knob if anyone has one kickin around. Electric rear windows were a ball ache but totally worth it!Last edited by marathontom; 22 June 2013, 19:29.Comment

Cheers bud!
My best mate owes me a bunch of favours after I helped him build his camper. It's a good job he's a painter. So he has my s2 bumpers at the min. So that's the next job, then fix some of the body dings and give it a full mop. Then I wanna give it a damn good engine service as its been sat for 3years, probably cambelt, water pump, aux belt etcComment

Had an hour spare tonight so attacked one side with my polishing mop. Looking good so far, usual carpark dents and door edge chips but it looks like its going to polish up great

I picked up some v6/s2 rear bumper hanger thingies the other week and the threaded inserts had spun out. So here's how I addressed the problem.

M6 Rivnut with a bolt wound into it. Be sure to wind it so it fills the threads.

Heat it up with a blow tourch till its hot

Then plunge it into the plastic bumper hanger. Inhale loads of plastic smoke then get spat at by pouring water on it to cool

V6/S2 vs 80 part

I also received a whole bunch of parts from peter aka acidburn the other day too, including a set of 10spokes to roll it around on.
I have a good collection of 10spokes now haha. 10spoke crew

Pretty much finished with polishing the old girl now and it's looking great for it, a whole load of minor car park dings n dints but nothing my dent man can't sort. Should be painting the s2 bumpers and wing mirrors this coming week and I can't wait to see it all together!

Here's how bad the roof was after its 3years under a tarp

Are the trims in the middle of the door on an s2 different to the 80? Or are they the same just painted body colour?
Thanks, TomComment

I'm not a huge fan of the s2 headlamp washers so thanks to my mate the holes were plastic welded up and both front n rear bumpers are now in primer.

Picked up the basecoat today so they should be on the car next week

Me and the mrs brought a house a couple of years ago and I've finally got serious with the renovations hence the reason progression on the avant has been slow. But I finally found time to put the s2 bumper on.

I like this photo, looks like the 80's are bullying the mk5 for it dinner money.

Gotta love a good before and after picture
