    1111kg, 760 AWHP, racing tomorrow!

so, its finally time to test this thing out. got the weight down to 2450 pounds = 1111 kilos. with driver (me!) it is 2680 pounds = 1215 kilos. it was >2650 pounds or so last year WITHOUT DRIVER.

we turned down the boost some, to the map that i ran 9.50's on, so i can get a feel for this sequential shift setup and no lift shifting.

boost is down now to 36-37 psi (360 kpa) in 3rd and 350 kpa in 4th gears.

going to start with an 8 degree ignition cut for .170 seconds, and see what happens.

also, i will be trying out some mechanical means to help prevent the front end from lifting on the launch. and the new airdam as well.

and i also got some parts from a different company and made my twin disc clutch into a triple disc clutch. and it seems to be working fine for me.

actually going to be trialing a lot of new stuff at this time.

also, going to be testing with an airdam setup, i did not finish the splitter in time.

    some pictures.....

and i dont really post up much here, as i dont get the warm fuzzy feeling that what i have done is much appreciated since i have deviated from the beloved 5 cyl theory. this works for me, and that is what i like, things that please me.

got my 6 year old boy on the camera phone. he gets excited about the car easily.

and something funny happened. i was working on it, and was going to first try fire it up but did not remember a crucial part, the plug wires. and then found out i had locked myself in the car.

here is the first fire up of the thing.... and it is sounding pretty good. this is last years motor, the new setup for this year the head is not complete. the dry sump is also not yet ready for release. so instead of sit around i tossed the old motor back in it for some fun!!!!

and this is the setup that i am trialing for the suspension. i can do this by having the struts shortened or shimmed internally, but until i know what i want or what works, it would be wasting money to do so without data. so, on the alignment rack this seemed to perform great. eliminated toe-in on launch, and kept things all nice and straight forward.

remember, i flipped the steering arms to the rear and am now using a VW front wheel drive Corrado steering rack. we shall see what we see in a mere 10 hours or so

and for those that do follow, the back/spine is doing great. one little relapse, totally unaware as to why, but good to go since. surgery has so far done great for me!

well, made three passes. first pass i broke a rar axle or the diff but did not know it. third pass, i went back to my regular shifting pattern of lifting throttle to make the shift. and ran 11.09 @ 147!!!! apparently it was only running FWD and the rear wasnt turning except dragging along on the pavement.

will swap out the diff tomorrow and go back to the track Monday for the private track rental.

imma work on the videos tonight maybe.
