I think its VTVW006. That is what was written on the box. Here's another picture of the other side.

No, it won't. This pulley doesn't work with the ABY-AAN-ADU ECU.
It seems Catcams should have one with the pickup's disk too. A friend of mine has ordered it (he owns an RS2), but the italian distributor wasn't sure about it's full compatibility with the pickup's needs.....

once he recives it I might be able to tell.

Marco - if Catcams don't have it working yet, then I'm sure they can use your drawings or measurments to construct one - I just hope you can get some money from your effort.

The thing I like about the CATcam pulley is the variable adjustment from the slotted holes. Assuming that the stock camshaft timing is best, in the ideal world, then only very small adjustment may be need to time the camshafts properly. However, given your problem with the cam phasing brought by the taller 2.5 block I can see why you needed much more adjustment range and that three definite settings were best for your evaluation. Hope I've understood that correctly !

                  Marco,

Maybe i can help you out with the cnc part to make slotted holes, to make the holes fully variable. I can machine it within a marigin of 0.01mm on our CNC milling machine.

I`m willing to mill that for you if you like. I`ll drop you a PM.

                  Cheers,

                  Cees

Cees that would be great really.
I think if you can make a small serie of them at a resonable price you should find many interested people among our forum and not only.
I think biggest problem is the pickup disk. We need to find a way to make it without the need to cut a OEM pulley. It needs to be thin metal, 0.8-1.0mm maximum, or it will not slide inside the pickup. So iron or mild steel is the only solution, I guess. Try to figure out how to solve this problem....

@ Paul. Yes Paul, you are correct, I had to keep up with the "half tooth" change in phasing, but the other reason for choosing the "holes" instead of slots is I was not confident in them with the finishing result the machinery I have would have allowed.
The best way to have a secure clamp is to create in the contact area of the two sliding parts a "corrugated" surface ( very thiny finish like this /\/\/\/\ )....

Anyway you are right. This pulley is actually meant to give some idea of how engine behaviour reacts to relatively big changes in timing. But if lets say I could see an improvement going from Ø to +2°, then another improvement form +2° to +4°, then no improvement from +4° to +6°, then the max should lay somewhere between the two. Hope I expressed the right way what I mean...

                      Marco,
Why couldn't a pickup disk be added to the cat cams pully? It seems like this would be fairly easy.

Your observation is right Elijah. As long as the disk is fitted together with the gear it will work. But not with the pulley on your picture, cause it doesn't have the required clearance on the inner part where the pickup is located. As you can see from my drawing (OEM pulley section) ABY-AAN-ADU pulley has much more room in the inside.
Still the need for the pickup's disk. How to have one without killing an OEM pulley?

Anyway your observation makes me think of a better and simpler design of the pulley.

                        Thanks

Anyway I've just finished my pulley.
I'll fit it tomorrow and see how it performs. Will start messing up with the timing only after brake in and a good period of engine settling.

Marco, it looks perfect man thumbs up!

I think i have the solution to create a design wich isn`t depending on the original sprocket. We also deal with a company that makes custom sprockets out of anything. So if i send up one of my laying around pullys i can let them make an inquiry of totally custom built sprockets with our needs.

For instance sending them some billet material and they deliver billet with the sprocketpatern back so you can make whatever you want out of it. Maybe thats an option.

                                Just a thought
