Well my new-to-me 1990 Coupe Quattro is getting set up for a full strip and paint back to the original Glacier Silver colour. The interior is currently Nautic Blue (dark). I hate it. Fortunately I have a black parts car with a tan interior.
Was the Glacier Blue available with the tan interior from the factory?
So... the question is how much is involved in the interior swap (including headliner)? What parts are NLA and what breaks easily? Any BTDT tips for me?
Ideally I would like to strip the entire interior out and put the driver's seat and dash in to drive it to the body shop for the work required.
I will begin by stripping the blue interior as a learning experience and then to the tan interior. I will take many, many pictures of the tear-down so I know what goes where and what fasteners go where for re-assembly.
Then there is the body trim. My current thoughts are to delete the side bumper strips. Any advice for and against on this subject is welcome. Also, the window trim strips and seals, are they available new still? And sunroof trim/seal?
Anyone have good Canadian sources for parts other than the Audi dealership?
