S2 to RS2 Last min advice before I start

    Hi All,

There are two concerns I have and they are

The Turbo and the ECU software.

    First the Turbo

    K26 #6 Hot side 64.3 and 54.4mm
    K26 Shaft and impeller

    With the

    RS2 K24 7200 Cold side
    Out 40.5mm
    In 48.5

    Is this good enough?

    Secondly is the software.

We use 95RON in South Africa.

I have no tuner to custom map so a generic chip seems to be the only option.

Am I taking too big a risk with a generic chip?

Though I doubt he'll have a generic map for that set up, the spec of the turbo needs to be identical for generic maps to be right, it may well work OK with RS2+ software but it won't be correct in the strictest sense.

I'm in the same boat with an RS2 hybrid and really a custom map is the only option to get the most safely from the set up.

Edit, just noticed you don't list RS2 injectors, instead your have 440's which are larger, again these need to be the exact spec the software is designed for.
      1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.
      1992 C4 2.8 Avant quattro
      1994 MTM RS2.

        -----------------------

Yep I am in conversation with him nice straight talking guy.

He has already advised what he can do.

To reliably and safely run higher power outputs on 95 RON you can either:

        > * Run water/methanol injection.
        > * Or install a compression lowering headgasket.

I did not wish to do either of the above.

He also advised that he has mapped 968 injectors 440cc before, but that he does not know my turbo characteristics - As he does not have a N75 duty map for that.

Basically I would get a generic rs2 spec tune.

And for the 95 RON he would do is drop the boost 0.1-0.2 bar and retard the ignition timing.

All of this sound good its just a pity I could not fly him to SA to do a custom map.

Still a bit concerned with the Turbo not having the RS2 hot side even though the size is close to that of the RS2.

I am also getting the original parts that have been changed which are in a good condition. Basically to get the turbo back to an original RS2 all I would need is the hot side housing. So if it does not work out I would try to get an original RS2 hot side housing.

          First parts arrived

So I am on my way with my conversion.

The RS2 turbo with the K26 #6 hot side housing has arrived complete with the old RS2 turbine wheel and shaft which is in mint condition.

Hot side housing number from what I can make out is 5326-101-6367 Anybody know what it came off.

The question is what should I do, try to get a hot side original RS2 housing and put the turbo back to stock? Or just take what I have and run it.

Also in the box was an RS2 exhaust manifold and S6 ECU which still needs updating.

If anybody has a hot side housing they do not need please PM me.
