    Aat into s6

I have a 1996 s6 estate with a destroyed engine and a 1994 a6 2.5 Tdi fwd. I would like to use the Diesel engine with the quattro drivetrain. What would be the best way to go other than buying an a6 diesel quattro.
What are the pitfalls of mating the Aat engine with the s6 drivetrain. Will it be too high geared.
Can I put the Quattro drivetrain in the fwd shell or is it easier to get the s6 reregistered as a diesel.
Should I make a stroker engine from the engines although I would think this would be the expensive option.
    Open to suggestions. Brian

It all depending on funds, no cost dry storage, available spare time, and mechanical ability.

I'd either part the S6 or store it and keep it and it's blown engine for repair for another day. They'll be rarer and more sought after at that stage.

Sell or keep the fwd A6 as a spare car, and just buy a nice A6q 2.5 TDI in either saloon or avant, in ideally the colour you'd prefer. There was nice silver saloon flagged on here recently.

Not really a good use of resources, time, money and effort, to build the car you can buy.

Just my tuppence, and as I say it all depends on your circumstances. There is different 'right' answer for everyone on here.

    Best wishes.

the AAT engine are fit right in... some smaller isue with the electric wire... the gear ratio arent very different.. you may se the ratio code in the top of the bellhousing( to the left... stamped in fx CBL12345 or similar.. the diesel tranny are some smaller geared in 4-5 and 6 'th gear.. but you still ned a complete donorcar , for all the small pc and bits... make another exostpiping( 3") and one box...chipped about 205hp dieselhp

Never build a car you can buy. Rebuild the 20vt in stock or stroker form.

Take that engine block and make one 2.5T.

                Aat into s6

Thanks for all the thoughts. Your right des No point in building a car you can buy and as I already use a b5 a4 Tdi as a daily driver there is no point in buying another one. I will keep any parts from the Tdi for a possible stroker project and part out or skip the rest. I'll keep the s6 for a while to see if anything develops.
