    90CQ Turbo swap project

Hi there, first and quick post - more to come.

    Quick question :

I will eventally drop an AAN engine in it - I know the intake creates a problem and will need to be customized to fit the Coupe's small chassis (also the radiator is the way

Will a 3B intake manifold fit (fit on the AAN)

Will it have the same inlets on it (vacuum, etc...)

Will it be easier for my setup ?

Basically : 3B intake or AAN modified on the AAN head (engine) ?

    Thanks

P.S. I'll have a lot like those to come. I'm slowly sourcing the parts and putting this together.

P.S. #2 Anyone knowledgable on 7A engines in the Ottawa, Canada region ? My 1990 (1st gen) CQ doesn't run currently

3b or aby or adu intake will fit.vacuum lines need to be adapted, also isv lines,it's not a straight fit.
i have modified my AAN intake in a b2 chassis with the radiator on the origional place

What do you think is easier ? Modifying the AAN ingtake to fit or modifying (adjusting) the 3B (ABY or ADU) intake ?
What about piping routing for the intercooler afterwards ? Easier with AAN or 3B intake ?

Thanks for those wuick replies ! !

if you fit a reverse (3b-aby-adu) intake manifold you can place origional turbo hoses and intertcooler from a 3b in a b3 chassis ,it means that everything is a direct swap.
with a modified AAN intake you need a custom intercooler and pipework
i think it all depends what you want with the car and how handy you are in making things
will you run with a standaard AAN engine or more horsepower?

              For now, stock AAN.
It's just for me, sourcing AAN parts is a lot easier (were found in S4-S6's)

3B's were only found in Audi 200 Turbo Quattro 1991 (1000 of them sold in the US).

I can make-fabricate things - But that is mainly the question - Will I need to make less fabrication with a 3B intake (I guess piping is not so hard to come about) ? Or less with a modified AAN intake ?

The question is also, I already have my AAN intake and all - but I could source a 3B intake on this forum for around a couple hundreds $$

Also, using a 3b - no need to delete the ABS module and tilt the rad right ? Or this can also be avoided with the modified AAN ?

              Thanks again

probably you need to make also a custom servopump bracket

Nice bay !! Was it difficult to fabricate/modify the intake ? My brother bas access to an aluminium welder.

I know the 1st S2's had the 3b's. That's why I'm inclined to think it'd ne easier to fit

An ABY is easier and the radiator fits back in it's original place, try and source ABY bits for the AAN.
