No immediate plans to change the interior, with the Recaro's and Nardi steering wheel it's already sporty. Maybe in the distant future I'll strip the interior, but now this would be to drastic.

Nice! I'll keep an eye out for that. I don't usually go anywhere near Leeds but I live not that far away, we may cross paths at some point

I would say don't strip the interior but it's up to you of course

          Update

Some things still needed to be done after the body work, most importantly the electronics.
When I bought the Competition in 2009, there were already some electrical issues. Dashboard illuminations which didn't work, fuses that broke down etc.
For once and for all someone had to take a good look at it and fix it. After the installation of the BC and ambient temperature display it was clear some work had to be done.

But WHAT A MESS. Different owners, installation of alarms and different radio's, made it one big chaos.
Wires which were cut of, clips which weren't connected anymore (always solder is the key), illogical cut's off etc.

Now everything is what it should be, the dashboard lighting complete it.

And further, bought some new stuff

Changed the fuel pump. Lastly, it didn't start anymore (three times) because the engine didn't received any fuel. After a while, I could get it started because the pressure on the fuel pump dropped (so the 'vanes' could push back the fuel to the engine, before the pump was to weak). But this had to be solved.

The Bosch wasn't the wright size, the one pictured above fitted well.

Some new tires on the rear axle. Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response (2yr old)

          To do:
          - Replace the electrical engines of the side-mirrors
          - Install the antenna

Today I went to Manchester for a four wheel alignment, because the Competition pulled to the left.

Not quite solved although, the problem has something to do with the front left triangle I think. Once I drove in a pothole and the triangle was dented and had to be replaced, have to take a closer look.

                  Great work.

If it was me, I'd black the chrome trim around the grille, I accept the racers had chrome.

I wouldn't fit the ariel you've bought. No ariel and use the heated rear window element, with or without a factory single booster amplifier.

Alternatively, you could fit an ariel inside the boot to have reception for local radio stations.

                  I like the rear window.

I'd take off the tag on the rear bumper.

Just saying........ It is your car, enjoy, looking good.

S2 Saloon is a good look too.

Do you happen to know how many Audi 80 Competitions they made for the street ?

2.500 build for homologation purposes (streetcars), today a whole lot less.

13 chassis for the race-version (STW), today 7 are still know (think some had been crashed en 2 used for safety-regulations).

Since you have a more popular engine , I would suggest investing in a serpentine set up from an ABF/2E engine

Just looking at the fuel lines, there are small black plastic dividers that are oem, in addition to the bits of ones fitted, would be good to get, assuming they are not NLA.

As well as the existing ones you have, there are ones for the rigid sections of the fuel pipes near the dipstick side of the engine.

                              Regards.

After he's is 25yr old. Regulations in Belgium, then he's an oldtimer. Otherwise I can't pass the MOT.

Still looking out which engine to fit in. A 5 cylinder is obvious, but what about a 1.8t?
