I'm very interested in these top mounts. Let me know how they work out. I'm interested in how harsh they are. Is the car more bumpy?

so I've finished with installation
of course I managed to knock out drive shaft from the cv joint
but I'll deal with it one of these days during other works on lower end

I know, I know ... I'll deal with rust end of this month while she'll be at the paint shop

and one upgrade to original design
I have used a piece of tube insulation ... polypropylene (I think) foam that repels water
placed between spring plate and upper mount plate to protect the uni ball from water and dust
how long will it stay there I don't know but it will help for sure

some things I don't like with those plates:
- water from the wheel will be splashing through the slots on the upper plates
- rubber boot protecting shock absorber doesn't have upper support any more
(it holds inside the spring and rubber bushing but just enough not to fall off, it can't be placed on the lower fixing point)
I'm still thinking of a solution to this ... maybe some kind of a circular spring (like those on key chain but bigger), to place it from the inside and keep the boot in place.
On the first issue, it could be easily solved with some plastic or rubber cap or something like that.
I'll give my solutions on that once I do it.Comment

OK, finaly got her on wheels last night
got to take her for wheels alignement but the feeling is allready great
camber/castor plates + powerflex control arm bushings + 235/45-18
car is handling beautiful in corners, it's stiff and not harsh at all
I'm still surprised how good it ended up
even the ride hight in front is ok

I realy had mental issue with how this car handles in corners ... it has grip and traction but feels like jelly regardless of strut bar and suspension work (those helped but not enough for me)
with this setup I finaly have what I wanted ... more direct steering, stiff feeling on multiple direction changes without much of weight transfer from side to side
I'll make a separate tread on powerflex installation since those c3/d11 bushes aren't straight fit and there no c4 version availableComment

What suspension angles are yiu using for tow camber and caster? So with these solid top mounts the case isn't harsh over bumps? What springs and dampers are you using. Modifying those poll bushes looks good. Give us more info. Thanks des.Comment

Looking good. And great to hear about the improved handling of the car. Do you still have orginal subframe bushings? Solid ones will remove the last small jellyfeeling.
About the camber plates. It's impossible to make a plate with great adjustments and no holes to the wheelhousing. But of course it's possible to add some rubbercover etc. on the underside to prevent water and debris to came thru the top mount.

thanx guys
@ diesel des - I had to run out of town this morning and job was done last evening ... had no time to do wheel alignment, have to wait till monday ... camber plates are set exactly like on pictures, max camber and castor combined ... toe in is way off since I was using eye line for reference
however, she's holding straight line with no hands on steering wheel
I'll do some testing first than will take her to shop for final setting ... I'll post those once done
@ thuppu - I'm thinking about that, but on the other hand it's a street car and croatian roads aren't best in the world 😁
regarding holes I understand the contecept ... I'd say function over fashion, so no big deal ... comment was made for someone else that could prepare properly ... if I would have thought about that earlier I would buy rubber like you suggested afterward ... nhf
product is high quality piece, no doubt
@ hunker7 - powerflex, as I said it's not a straight fitComment
