  • Strong numbers that most “normal” folk would be happy with
Stock ABY alternator is 120Amp. You can fit a D2 A8 150Amp unit with minor mods.
IMHO seems unlikely you’re struggling for supply, but perhaps. EHPAS is demand based so won’t be drawing much unless you have load on the rack; you can add up your current draw (assuming some values) and see roughly where you are.
At your boost level (cylinder pressure) I think I would look at the ignition system (try plasma coils and experiment with plug gap).

      Cheers mate

We tried different plug gap to no avail.

Need to test voltage to both pumps is 13.5v
If they are then need to test why the nuke fuel reg is dropping pressure.

Plasma coils are definitely an option also.

Man i am so close to 800whp.....

        • Just a wild guess but maybe a TDI alternator from an AEL or AAT would be plug'n'play and provide more amperage.

Great numbers, must be a riot!

Been busy with work, holiday and not pushing my tuner along.

Went with a larger 1.01 ar rear housing because the turbo was choking a bit at 38psi. Will run 40+ now.
Reclocked the cams a bit to help with the boost onset

Engine bay almost done. Just getting a custom shroud built for radiator and then all painted satin black to match the rest of the engine bay.

Electric power steering pump is installed as with the vacuum brake conversion.
Wiring on firewall getting removed or neatened (is that a word??).
New custom catch can being made and partially hidden in the guard next to radiator where the old power steering fluid bottle was
            Black braided lines to everything.
Water meth tank and pump fitted in boot (no pics as as car was up on hoist)

            Its finally getting there.
            Hi there, love the build.
Do you have any pictures of how you mounted the electric PAS pump and did you get new hoses for it or keep the originals?
