RS2 overhaul

Its been a while since I wrote in the introductions area.
I have started overhauling my RS2. I have removed the rads and replaced both the oil pressure switches and the thermostat which I managed to get from Audi, also my new TRW steering rack, steering pump, track rods/ends and steering damper have arrived. Its great to be finally getting started on the old car although my bank balance has taken a bashing.

You have to turn thermostat for 90 degrees.

Oh ok, thats the old one I hadn't put the new one in when I took the picture.
So it should go vertical then ? when I replace it.

Yes. When you put them horizontal, engine will have higher temperatur for some 5 degrees. I know because I allways learning on hard way.

What did the steering rack cost?

is there *any* explanation for that? like any guess or so why could that be the case
