    Audi URS4 never ending project.

    Hi to all,

I would like to share with you my long story project. I am building it for about 3 years and still not driving it((( But a lot of work has been done and still a lot of remains. As usual
The biggest problem of slow going project- money! They always stay as a wall in front of dream! But everytime when I have chance to spend some money on my dream, I am doing it )) Step by step, I am getting closer to see her back on a roads.

    Some pics of my car.

First my modification was changing WG spring to 1bar spring. I was really happy how she was boosting and accelerating. After one month of hard use I blow my turbo))
And here I understood, that project begins!!

I started everything taking a part and taking engine out.

    Everywhere was oil and leaks

Next step was, to take apart legendary angine AAN. Pistons were not in the conditions, but all other parts seems to be in good shape.

After that I started collecting all information of what parts are needed to make powerful engine. And step by step I started buying all needed parts.

    600x300x76 IC and 044 pump.

    Alu flywheel for Tilton clutch.

Exhaust manifold from Sweden with Tial 60mm WG flange.

Engine block sandblasted and honed to 81,5 mm.

During these three years I have changed three times turbo. First one was Garrett GT42-76 ( precision edition ). After half a year I decided, that It was to big for my engine and sold it to one guy from Finland. Now turbo stays on supra )
Second turbo was Holset HX40 super with 16cm hot side. This is the best turbo for our engines. But When I received exhaust manifold there was big problem, he came with wrong turbo flange.
So I decided instead of cutting this peace of art , to sell this turbo ( our forum mate bought turbo ) and buy the new one.
So my choice was Holset HX52 with 16cm hot side ))

      Holset HX52 with KKK36 or 31. I don't remember ))

Hi everyone here! Had some small photo session yesterday. So decided to post them. )))
Everytime when I start assembling something, there are problems and small issues. So the engine does not sit in the engine bay complitly, have to modify my release bearing, because 2disck tilton clutch won't work with OEM one.
Will try to post more pictures and keep informing what I have done with my URS4 )))

I see the end of my project in the end of tunnel, but still have to buy and modify a lot of parts.
Sorry, my mistake - it is never ending project, because there are always plenty of room for modifications and horsepower)))

                        heh... yep.

Here are some more pictures of cleaning and sandblasting suspension parts.
When I started my project , thought that it will take maximum one year. But when it started growing into serious project. There was only one way, to look over all parts give theme clean and nice view

You Estonian guys must have some competition of who has the most shiny bottom of the car.

                          Looking good though.

Cars are like girls: many of them look good just standing there, but far less stand the scrutiny once you lift them.... ahh funk it, this mental image is a bit too much even for me

Also the obsession with undercarriagge might be because during the winter we basically drive around in a salt lake. On a quiet day you can hear the rust doing it's magic.

Coming from Latvia myself, and the amount of salt on the roads in the winter will destroy even Audis.
