    B2 90 Quattro

Well this is my second quattro - I daily drive 370 000 km 1996 UrS6

B2 is 1985 model in red with rare Brasil Brown interior, ABS,sunroof, power windows, electric mirrors, headlight washers. Currently dismantling for a bare shell restoration of body.

Taking my time, there was an animal loving in the vehicle for a while Not mice as there is only thorns and no excrements, so clean animal. Luckily not mice as tey tend to chew up on wires and stuff..

Car is in ok shape - there is mainly rust on the boot, rear arches, and some bubbling in the area below the wipers.

Apart from door cards and seats the interior is saveable - good carpets, dash, centre console.

Sometime in its life car was resprayed, front power windows, mirrors were cut off and manual mechanisms installed.Central locking does not work as well.

I have sourced most of the panels that need replacement and as a priority is to achieve a good bare shell base. Frames and suspension will be sandblasted and powder coated.

I have a lot of aan parts to build a 20vt engine for it, so it is the prefferable choice of engine, but concentration is on body at the moment.

I miss a few parts and will post a list after I assess the mess of parts I have ad what I need.

There is some nice aspect of working on this car , i dont know if it is simple complexity or complex simplicity . It requires basic tooling so far and I dont expect surprises further on.
I am yet to work on suspension and drivetrain but I adore the Quattro 1 system and the shape of the car. Especially in red with sunroof and ABS So far the plan is to restore the car to original as new condition, will add some insulation and a good sound system as the plans are to be my weekend + occasional daily driver in good weather ( that does not exclude rain and snow )

Carpet, dash, front windscreen, wipers, heater out. Rust is not so bad after all. Next is removal of rear screen and sorting out everything and cleaning what will go back in the car as i wait for the shell to come back. It leaves on 1st of march.

Working hard, body requires major work and the guy who is doing the bodywork is a true master. All possible rust will be removed , bare metal ground , zink coated , etc. Body straight , no accidents .... ( sorry photos dont work so link to full album )
