    S2 aby project

Well iv had my s2 aby for a year and half now since i was 21 and im sure some of you have had the joys of dealing with some of my ultra noob questions being as im now 22 with a 22 year old car I was definitely in need of some help .... the build has been coming along from when i bought the car while i was away in canada from the lad some people know down south in swindon, paid 1k deposit! Due to being away for another month before i could pick it up when i got back to uk ...anyways picked the car up damp damage inside and out but was running great and pulled better than peter crouch with a fresh wage slip which made me instantly fall in love with it (apart from the fact i had no choice since i already had a grand put down 😂😂😂 anyways i purchased the car got it back to leeds and started playing ... been to york "run what you brung" after getting homefry chip and was getting 13.6 fastest times and i wanted more as we all do so i decided lets get to work and do a rebuild ... pics to follow ☺

The tires were wrong too small and brakes needed a nice "little" upgrade so i went for 225/45 r18 for the front and 255/35 r18 on the back we also got hold of some porsche cayenne 17z calipers with merc 345 discs on the front ( cant remember who made my brackets for my calipers but spot on )
        Kw version 1 coil overs
3 inch down pipe to 3.5 inch after were the cat would be to side exhaust sounds immense

This is the engine all cleaned up after i had it a few months ... most the trims were missing and half the engine bay was held in by only half the bolts and screws which i only found out when the engine work began ... fabricated aluminium plate over red top rs6 coils and iridium platnium plugs homefry chip 280bhp all silicone hoses all round in black ( dont ask about the cone filter came with car will be sorting that after i finish my build if anyone has any suggestions???)

Resealed the rear lights and swapped them for smoked black ones

Then my engine was delivered back to me safe and sound and then the real work began
                  Work done
                  H beam rods,
                  koberm smitt bearings
                  oem head bolts and mains
                  oem rings
                  stem seals
                  head gasket,
                  other gaskets victor reinz
rebuilt Aby oil pump like new
                  oem water pump
                  crank rear seal gaskets
                  rocker cover gaskets
K24/k26 hybrid turbo with lightened compression wheel and smaller hot side for faster spool
                  Braided coolant hose for turbo
Rs2 exhaust manifold ported and polished
Billet water flange on back of the engine as the plastic aby ones are crap and mine broke... made by rusty
Painted rocker in black wrinkle paint
Aan reverse inlet manifold which took some mega work to get everything to fit : loads a little bots and bobs iv missed or simply forgotten that iv done :

Once we managed to get the aan inlet fitted i went to get the engine back in so i bolted up the lightened single mass flywheel and paddle clutch ( as some of you already know the aby run a duel mass) so some work had to be done as the engine would now sit 10mm further back ... so i bolted it all up and had to remove the spacer and cut the dowels in half to compensate for taking the spacer away ( lost a lot of pictures along the way )

Got it all lined up after this small annoying hitch 😅😅

As you can see here the dowel mid left isnt sticking out as much due to being cut down

Stated putting pipes in and managed to get my belts on and tensioned up

Extended my wiring ... 3 things had to be extended. .. throttle position sensor idle control valve and engine air temp ... throttle cable luckily was long eough once i removed one of the cable clips securing it near the bulk head

Ah, good man, start them young, I've got a photo a few years ago of our (then) 6yr old daughter helping change the clutch master cylinder on the Ur quattro which is basically a pedal box out job and requires locking bolts relocated back up against the bulkhead under the dash. Little fingers in tight spaces are often an advantage....
