Dreaded flex tube gaskets, NLA from dealers. I just used exhaust sealer paste and that's it.

Wug's link to genuine audi parts (Miramar Audi) says differently, at least in NAMerica.

Buy a new Bosch Lambda probe for the car. It's probably not been replaced in years and the new one will pay for itself in about six tankfuls of petrol.

Buy NGK spark plugs and have them in stock and easily to hand when you need them, the same with the coils if they are still oem coils.

Norbitron or Error 404 on here do the relevant coil harnesses for the newer style coils.

        Trust me. BTDT.

Another of my concerns are the oils that I should put inside the engine and the tranny+diff, any specific brand? Also I have browsed countless discussions regarding the oils, they name pretty much all the brands. The reason for the oil change in the engine is that I dont know when was the last change, and its leaking (gonna change the sump and head gaskets as well). For the tranny its because I hear a friction sound in 1st and reverse at any rpm. None in the remaining gears. That sound is really worrying and I hope an oil change will fix it, if not I'm in for a tranny refurb.

Mobil 1 brand, a semi synthetic oil of 10/40w should be a good start / safe choice for the engine for UK type weather.

Others will recommend suitable gearbox and differential oils if you do not want to use the respective appropriate oils from the Audi dealer just to play it safe for now, even though they are pretty expensive.

I'm a complete Motul guy. All of the fluids, except the washer, are Motul in my UrS4. It's 5w-40 X-Cess in the engine, Gear 300 75w-90 in the gearbox and diff. Even the PAS fluid is green Motul one. Kinda like Motul a lot. If money allows, go for the 300V engine oil.

My tranny whines in reverse, but not in any other gears. But I have the dreaded 1-2 shift collar issue, shifts fairly hard. Oil change, of course, did not change any of that like I was hoping when doing it.
