Audi Coupe B4 2.8E Project

Im building an Audi Coupe B4 2.8e

History:
Bought the car with no engine. Chasis from an 2.3E.

Problems:
Fitting the 2.8e is not easy. I dont know how the 2.8e subframe is and if the chasis is not the same as mine.
What modifications do i need to do to fit the engine and fit the engine mounts.

Next:
Changing from 4 wheelhubs to 5

I need help. I don't know the difference between the 2.8 and 2.3 chasis.

Hey,

It looks like 4cyl. chassis. Look at the front subframe. There are mounts for the engine n the subframe not on the chassis.

Ironically most people are looking to change from a 2.8L V6 to a 2.2L I5 engine.

If you do a search on here you'll see what they had to alter to change engine types. The threads also have photos.

p.s. while I suspect I might know the possible reasons, can I ask why you want to change to a V6 engine for the car ?

I would go for V8.

I would go for the 2.2t of course. But the problem is that where i live (Albania), is hard to find those engines. I bought the complete 2.8 V6 engine for just 100 Euro. So being short of money and hard to find the parts i need to go for this.

It had an 2.3 i5. I think i should change just the subframe. I hope the engine mounts do not go directly on chasis.

The I5 engine does not bolt up to the subframe without custom mounts. See this thread for more information.
