Nice one Tom, good to see you back on the forum and looking fwd to seeing this one develop. How easy is it to squeeze an 07k into the coupe...presuming must need bespoke engine mounts/arms?
There will be plenty of pictures taken.
The engine fits quite well, but requires a custom sump/engine mount brackets/inlet manifold blah blah blah. It's not a straight plug and play thing. Its not really necessary in the S2, but in the UR it is a great mod for high powered cars, as the front end has no space for an intercooler, but the 07k is a lot shorter engine that leaves a nice big gap.

Looking forward to seeing this come back together, next year's meets will feel like a reunion with your car, now mine/Andys (Angus' old) RS2, maybe even his coupe too... just need Stu to get his on the road, Doug to bring his, and the rest of the motley crew who have managed to keep theirs roadworthy most of the past 5 years and therefore don't get a mention

Another advantage is that parts for this engine will be around for another 12 months or so before they are NLA
Spent some much needed time on the car today. Rear subframe and suspension out and stripped ready for shot blasting and powder coating. Got the rear diff to clean up and replace bushes on. And then refit everything after treating the floor pan in some POR15.
Have my vacuum servo kit ordered up now, KW v’3s ordered, and all new wheel bearings etc to rebuild the suspension when the powder coaters have done their job.
Getting super excited about this old nail now!!!!

Engine isn’t far off being built, bottom end is 80% done, and the big valve head is due back from the machine shop any day now.
Plan is to have it all ready for ADI in October this year.

So this week the suspension has been fully stripped to bare parts. It’s off the powder coaters tomorrow so will get that lot back just as the new KW v3’s arrive.
Then it’s a case of refitting with new bearings and bushes etc. Also can then finally mount the brakes and make new brake lines and get the braided hoses ordered to suit.
I will then fit my double vacuum servo kit that arrived today from Error404.
Also landed a set of 18” BBS RC wheels to go on it. They clear the brakes just!
‘Just’ need more time in the day!
