    Potential S1 E2 project

    Good day everyone.
I am a new member on your wonderful forum.
I have always wanted a S1 E2 of my own from a young age, and may now be in the position to build a reproduction.
    But here is my dilemma:
I will be building the car in South Africa. Very few Quattros were ever imported and most, if not all are now collectors items and extremely expensive.
Even more scarce would be a Coupe as none (that I know of) were ever imported.
That leaves me with only one option and that is to import the rear half of a Quattro or Coupe.
Can anyone give me some leads on where to find one?
The next problem is also that no two door 80s were ever imported, hence no C-pillar donor. But this can be overcome with fiber pieces like Hamish used.
The easiest main donor to find would be a 4 door 80, 100 or 400.
Which donor will be more suitable?
Please feel free to leave any comments / advice. (Apart from "don't do it". I know that already)

Welcome! And good luck on your ambitious project, it will be an interesting journey and I hope that whatever route you choose it is well documented.

Call it a dumb question, but why not import a fully built replica or one that's got the major logistical hurdles handled for you? Say, one from Brian (username: Tonks4x4), or another? Would seem much easier, cheaper, even, to start with a shell than have to cobble together rare imports and then start to build.

      Hi PRY4SNO
      Thanks for your comments.
I will consider all options, but as they say, the journey is part of the fun.
So building the car will be really a lot of fun.
However I may look at importing a rolling shell that is already prepared.

            Hi Mr G!
The car will be built in the Jo'burg area. I'm not sure exactly where yet.
I really hope I can make it happen.
