  • I can't find my nuts

How frickin hard is it in this day and age to find a motor factor or hardware supplier with a decent range of nuts and bolts?

I tried the usual places - Hellfords, Twee & Queue and whatever wee local corner shop places I could find. I also tried online but can only find suppliers for trade accounts.

I just need two plain M14x1.5 nuts that I can use to fit my newly acquired wheel studs. Its doing my head in !

Heck I'll buy a box of a hundred if I need to and just give them away to anyway else wanting to do a stud conversion...

And don't get me started on McGard lock nuts.... Hellfords have about ten M12x1.5 kits, but the only thing they carry in M14x1.5 are locking bolts instead of nuts.

Nope - I've already got the necessary wheel nuts from trackstore - its two dopey open nuts I need to wind the studs in nice and tight.

Try searching for "engineers supplies" in yell.com, then click on "metal & metal goods manufacturing" should come up with a few places.

Yes tried all of the above, but those places don't generally deal with Joe public... right PITA but the trail is warming now to a local ships chandler of all things who allegedly keeps a fantastic range of allsorts of nuts & bolts
