      It's not adjustable!

I just meant, look under the wheel - when driving!!! It's almost possible!!!

Remember if u change the steering wheel for a smaller one,it will change turn's to lock etc,and basically feels a bit wierd at first,if i was u i go with a cushion on the seat and the S2 s/w they look cooler than any other Audi s/w's,
i think all Audi have 370,mm,BBS do similar after market steering wheels in 360mm 350mm ,if u ebay.de search BBS u find find one,u can get 3 spoke or 4 spokes similar to the Audi S2 in style with carbon, wood,or black leather or coloured leather

Doesn't your seat not raise/lower enough to compensate?

The number of turns lock-lock will be unaffected, that's a mechanical link via the pinion on the rack. What will change is the radial movement of the rim, measured as a distance.

I agree with sticking to the original wheel, I like it (but that's just my opinion!)

...and yes, the seat adjustment should be able to compensate - but Tina doesn't want to look like a bus driver IIRC!!!

As the Keeper said, the wheel size will not affect the no. of turns lock to lock, just the radial distance turned.

The reason it will feel 'weird' at first is that it will change the amount of force required to turn the front wheels, since this force is based on the leverage effect of the steering wheel (i.e. its radius). Therefore a smaller steering wheel requires more force to more, since it has reduced leverage.

                Cheers n

Your right i dont want to look like a bus driver.
But the reason i need to change it , is the one on it aint the S2 origional
& its 380mm.(its an ugly black thing with the 4 rings on it) So if i can get an S2 one at a decent price, then that will do.
I know im only probably talking an inch or so,
but an inch makes a big differerence to me.
Afterall i am used to the sports car way of driving :mischeif:

                        S2 Steering wheel

                        Tina,

If you are going to be at Castle Coombe on the 22nd for Audi International then I've got a S2 steering wheel you can have for £45. It's got a small (1/2 ") scratch on the horn push and the boss was bought when the wheel was put on my Ur so I'm not sure if the are the same. I've got the same wheel (non S2) without the badge fitted on my Ur, so this one's surplus. PM me if you want it.

                        Cheers, Andy

I'm guessing the one Tina has got is like a standard Audi 80 or Coupe wheel, the type with a big horizontal beam that extends out to a pair of small spokes at each end (the whole of this area is the horn push and has a large Audi rings logo embossed).

Does anyone have a pic? Does that sound like your wheel, Tina?

That's the one I meant too.

Got used to them in the 80 and the CQ I've had/got, but it's not the thing to have for an S2!

Is it any bigger though? Can't say I noticed...
