Anyone got any spare???? I don't want to shell out £25.00 for 50metres of the stuff when i only need 2 metres maximum.

Yes - I've got three coils of the stuff (you buy four in a box) left over. I didn't even get through a single coil doing my rear lights. You're welcome to a coil, at cost price + postage.

PM me if you're interested further.

      Ck.

Yes, that's the stuff. Terostat VII by Teroson, part of Loctite. IIRC, 3M do something similar.

I originally got mine from a Brown Brothers Motor Factors, but since I used less than one coil to completely seal up the rear lights, I had three coils left. (Four coils in a box, each coil of 2.5m length. A box is the minimum you can buy.)

Interest has been swift: I now have none spare.

My local Skoda garage sold it by the coil; 2m for just over a fiver. Give yours a try?

(And they didn't treat me like a leper for daring to buy a small item).

I tried the local vw stealer who had it in stock but he point blank refused to sell me a 2m section.

My experiences of trying to buy a passat a while ago and this run in with them suggest that VW's are the king's of be-littlement. I did drive back to the dealer after I bought my a6 and reminded the sales guy to take EVERY customer seriously

FWIW, I successfully repaired my leaking rear light cluster using RTV Silicone sealant. Sourced ( and recommended by the local motor factor ). Cost about £5.50 for the standard sized cartridge. Made by "Granville". Instructions are to let it set off before re attaching (lights) to bodywork.
