    S2 Coupe Wanted

Right, after having a ride in Greg's S2 last night, I'm now looking for a late (94/95/96) ABY coupe, with lowish miles (up to 130k) as I do around 15k per year.

I'm looking for a standard car, one thats not been modified, not too picky on colour, but would love to have leather/recaros/heated/electric seats, basically a well spec'd car!!

My budget will stretch to £8000, but I need to sell my A2 first as i'll be using the money from the sale of it to buy the S2.

the reason i need a standard S2 is because my current insurers are direct line, and my policy runs out in august, and I'm pretty sure that they won't insure modified cars, which means switching insurers and losing a years no-claims.

    Cheers

Cool, I wasn't sure if they did or not, i've done a quote based on a standard '95 coupe, fully comp comes to just below £600, based on me being 25 (which i will be in 2 weeks), and having 4 years no claims. I'll ring them and do a quote with a few mods and see what they say!

      Thanks

        Wait 2 weeks!

My brother had to, uh, "take of his RS4 alloys" from a Golf TDi 150 with Direct Line as they won't insure U25's with modified cars. Quite rediculous really, but I guess it's a good way to ensure your clientel isn't made up of Chavs.

They were happy to insure it under his missus' name who's a year his senior, but he wasn't allowed to be a named driver till 25

Alternately, I'd go with some of the other favourites (seach for "insurance" you'll find tonnes) and cancel the direct line policy... what's an extra year's no-claims when you could have a 996-braked, RS2-powered, H&R riding, HID-converted S2 on the driveway??
