3.5bar Fuel Pressure Regulator & S2 Crank Position Sensor

    Hello all

Just building my 16vt but i'm still short of a few pieces.

I think i'll be running my S2 injectors on a 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator. I think the regulators were fitted to some of the N/A engines. Has anyone got one? It has to fit my ABY fuel rail!!

Also, the G60 management i'll be using needs a crank position sender but my 1.8 16v block doesn't have a hole in it for a sensor!! So i'm going for a S2 position sensor and run it off a 36-1 trigger on the crank pulley Has anyone got an S2 position sensor?

    Thank you!

Thanks chap! I'll have a look but i think they'll be quite hard to get hold of!! I'll look into it a bit further and see what other engines in the VAG range used.

Right then boys, i managed to get hold of the position sensor. And as i was stripping the inlet manifold, i found the fuel pressure reg on it had 4 bar stamped across it. EH? lol!

Would anyone know whether that's 4 bar with or without vaccum? Thanks boys

              Hi man.

Take a look on some BMW engines.
They have orig. 3,5bar fuel pressure regulators using and they fit in the fuel rail from the VR6, TT, ABY, ADU engines.

              Regards
              Peter

Here is a local company that manufactures caps for FPRs to make the original ones adjustable. It's a good product.

Upper one is for the small regulators as in ABY ADU and the lower one is for the traditional bigger one as in 3B.

When it rain - it pours! Eh lads! lol! I though i was the only one reading this! LMAO!

Thanks for the replies though chaps.

I had a look at a N/A 20v Leon engine spec details the other day. I know for a fact the APG engine has 3 BAR stamped on the regulator, so i looked at the fuel pressure testing page and found that the pressure should be 2.5 BAR normally but with the vacuum pipe dis-connected it should rise to 3 BAR. So the figure stamped on the regulator is the maximum pressure it can give. So mine will give 3.5 BAR with the vacuum pipe connected - which is perfect.

I'm guessing they do that so on start-up the engine gets more fuel as a vacuum hasn't been created yet?

I've managed to hold hold of everything now, for my 16vt, but the turbo. I'm still not sure whether to go K24 or K26...
