Mounting For Gear Shift

Hi, have fitted a short shift thing, it come with no instructions, nor was i aware
that instructions were on the parts site as just rang & asked & ordered

But finding out for 6 speed you need to grind the metal thing.
So on grinding it..... the grinder slipped and the bit thats needed to stop
it going into another gear has been grinded
So atm its done with cable ties, but thinking about using some chemical metal??

I have rang Audi dealers & they aint got one (sure he did'nt know the S2 aswell)
but went thru it with him from etos. Said he would ring back as was gonna
ring around.............. not heard back LOL (said metal plate £14+vat, seems ok)
think i had him baffled on it???

Here is a pic of the old one, need the plate that goes under neath this & the bit
to keep gears where they should be/go ??
