Or you could try Quattro corner. Pete has been good when I have used him in the past...

            Bypass it
It's there for a reason. When you've stopped and switched off, under bonnet temp rises and then the pump comes in and flows water in the opposite direction.
Your water temp maybe never rises above 90 whilst driving, but it almost certainly will after a run, even more so the water left sitting inside a turbo that will be WAY hotter than that of the water in the block.
A quick fix to get you home maybe, but not a permanent solution.

afterrun pump should never be bypassed!!! It is like having a turbotimer only it works much better cause you dont have to have the engine running
Im going to be replacing mine but unfortunatelly not sometime soon, rather in a couple of months.I bought a new one from audi for 200 euro but then noticed that mine already works fine.I will be replacing it anyway so i will have a spare to let go.
Im also going to be fixing/replacing parts from my coolant system as i had recently a new rapture somewhere and all water was drained out. Also i will be using a temp sensor for the afterrun pump at 90oC instead of 118oC which is now cause here in Greece temps are not to be taken lightly...

Cheers! - thats would be just what I need and less than half the price of a Bosch one in the UK! Pity he doesnt seem to post to the UK and doesnt take Paypal either. The Totsteil site has good prices too, but not sure about shipping to the UK.

Thanks for helps guys - I wont be bypassing it!! I also had a burst - on the turbo cooling pipe beside the stat, dumped all the coolant on the way down Hartside and it was well scarey - want to keep the turbo as happy as possible and not taking any more chances!! Might need a new temp sensor also, the exisiting one is pretty cruddy but seems to be working ok as best I can tell as the pump does seem to kick in, but is leaking. If I can get to it today Im gonna finally try to test the fan - though it looks like it will break as soon as I try!!

Want to make sure the cooling system is all tip top again. The temperatures & conditions that pushed it over the edge are unusual in the UK - had to be mid 30's when it overheated after the A1 run south, but if everything else had been fine it probably wouldnt have happened. Also want to finally get the water loss that the car was suffering from when I got it sorted. Looks like Im going to need a new rad & fan, the missing aux rad is being replaced after a recore, and then I probably need to stop being a skinflint and get a new aux water pump too

                  cheers again
