    ABY Power Steering Pump

As per title. Must be in good working order with little 'chatter' when operating. Preferaby less than 100k too as mine's not done a huge amount more than that. Let me know what you've got and whether you know if it's any good and we can talk money!

OR any suggestions as to where I can get mine refurbished (ristol area prefereably) and whether it's just a waste of money over buying a remanufactured one from Audi (C.£250).

Graham has posted a BTDT on how to recon the PAS pump.

I've got a brand new one FOC to go on the Avant even though the one on the car has been reconned.

Also dont forget the belts on these make quite a racket, to test these start the engine and let it tick over, pop the bonnet and pour a little water onto the belt, if the noise goes, then its the belts.

No the belt is held on by tension, using WD40 lubricates the belt reducing friction hence a reduction noise.

Cheers for the words of advice. I'll check the belts although I'm convinces that the metallic chatter is more than likely related to it being phooked! Been making the noise for ages and the autocheck has ben having a bit of a wobbly recently so thinking I should get it sorted reasonably quickly...

Will have a look at the DIY thread again. Remember reading it a while ago.
