RS2 Billet Crank Pulley + Bolt + Locking Tool + Timing Belt

    Can anyone help me please?

I need a billet crank pulley, to buy or hire a crank / timing locking tool so I can fit the pulley and change my timing belt.
I have bought the SKF tensioner, the SKF Water pump, and the poly/v-belts, but I still need some let’s to complete the job.

I would rather have a OEM Crank Pulley Bolt or a bolt direct from ‘Febi‘ direct (am I right that the original Febi Genuine bolts are still safe?) or a recommended dealer who can supply me a Febi or OEM bolt rather than risk a replica crank bolt from Ebay if anyone can guide me where to find one?

I was hoping to buy a Gates timing belt rather than the cheaper version that Euro Car Parts offered me last week. I did not even recognise the name.

I have completely forgotten who offered to hire me the crank locking tool recently, but if anyone can help me, or guide me where I can buy one, that would be great.

    Many Thanks in advance chaps.

Avoid the Febi bolt. The collar is much thinner than the oe one. Audi Tradition sell the original and it's quite reasonable. You may also need a new diamond washer if yours is showing any sign of damage. Available from Ebayde.
Alex (error) sells the locking tool.
Terrybullone (Chef) sells the billet pulley.
Check the pump you have is for the RS2 (It's not the same as S2).
Be careful when buying the belt as the RS2 belt is also different from S2. Make sure it's a Gates. Try Audi for an original, I think they are still available. Plenty of good threads on the forum about the different timing on the RS2 as well.

I bought the tensioner direct from SKF along with the SKF water pump & a clutch release bearing just for the hell of it as it saved on shipping for the future. I’m assuming it’s the correct tensioner.

The poly belts and V belts I bought from Euro Car Parts, but I want to make sure I buy an Audi or Gates Timing belt for safety.

Audi Newcastle said that the Timing belt is no longer available, along with the Bolt too, so I will get from elsewhere I guess.

          Be careful as the SKF website is listing 81612 for your car which is NOT correct. You need;
034121004bx for pump, 034109119c belt, 034105229a bolt. All available on the Audi Tradition website but I suggest you sit down before you check the price of the pump
The diamond washer is 034105193 and only available in Germany from after sellers.
There is a thread here about swapping the drive cog from an old RS2 pump to a new pump but as they are pressed in, I wouldn't like to try that and guarantee a seal.

If you buy the cambelt from ECP, I'm 99% certain you'll get the wrong one, AFAIK it's only available from Audi Tradition. Make sure it's got 150teeth.

Oh my life. Yep my new SKF water pump has 29 teeth. Nightmare. So is the SKF tensioner ok or is that useless to me too? I’ve notice that even the Audi Tradition website RS2 waterpump has a plastic impeller. That’s a shame, especially as it’s £300 ! Jesus.

I believe the tensioner is the same. You don't need to replace the whole tensioner, just the roller bearing.
Are you sure it's a plastic impeller and not painted metal? The OE one will be good for many miles, I'm sure, plastic or otherwise.

I've been thinking about this water pump business. It plays no part in the timing. Hence, if the teeth of the pump engage properly with the belt, I see no reason why you couldn't use the S2 one. The only difference will be that the S2 one will run slightly slower than the RS2 one and therefore the coolant won't flow as quickly when driven hard. I can't see this making a huge difference providing your radiator and the rest of the coolant system is well maintained.

I'd give Pete at quattro corner a ring, he always provides good quality parts and will match the right ones to your vehicle.
