Greg,
It's so old its probably got valves!
Besides even 18 year old electronic components frighten me. You are right though, the worst case scenario is that I make it completly non functional!
Its worth a try isnt it, just check for dry joints initially and then see if any resistor are blown and if any capacitors look like the tops have expanded a bit.
Might have what your are looking for in the roofspace. Bought it off ebay a while back to fit in the ur and then changed my mind. Will have a look around and see if I can get the model number.

Cheers!
Being a bit fussy I know. I guess any elderly Blaupunkt amp would do as long as it got the din plug and the correct terminals for the power and speakers etc. I am only trying to find out whether the head unit is duff!
I have had it apart but can't see anything obviously wrong!
Anyway tell me what you find and I try and see if it will do the job.
Had a look and when couldn't find it I remembered that I lent it to someone else a while ago. Still have an old school Blaupunkt equaliser and fader/interface if any use to you (or anyone else).
I have found a BEA80 if that's any good?
It has a cable with a din plug and the old fashioned pin and plate type speaker sockets / plugs.
Don't know where I got it from, just found it looking for something else, 2 months later than you wanted it, but never mind
Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.
England must be a Country. :mischeif:
Thanks for the offer. But in my thorough investigative trouble shooting procedures, I have managed to knack the period head unit and three speakers too!
Shame as it was probably one of the first in car cd players (Blaupunkt New York) and probably cost more than most peoples houses back in the day. Don't really fancy one thats lights up like Sunset Strip !
