    Bigger turbo for RS2

I'm looking for a bolt on turbo capable of 400 - 420 hp.

Would suggest you add rods to your want list also but would suggest either the GT2871 or the bigger GT3071 but depends how you want it to drive, instance response or a bit of lag

I already have H-beam rods in my engine, I replaced them when I did the rebuild. Everything else is stock.

I've been looking for something like gt3071, but I'm open to suggestions. Anybody got a used one?

Corey, how much for the gt3071 including oil and water hoses and intake pipe?

Or a k26/27 hybrid that is a straight swap - only 1 spacer required. Good for 450bhp, but on stock rods 400 to 420bhp.

K26/27 if it has to be bolt on, but I'd spend the extra and get a Garrett Dual-BB + custom lines. For example, the GT3071 will give similar spool-up to your RS2 turbo but deliver 400+ no problem. Be sure you've got the fuel pump + injectors, and 440-450 (limit of the RS2 EM) won't be a problem.

The pump will deliever enough for 450hp. I would go for the K26, if you have a BB turbo and you blow a pressure hose then it's probably rebuild time for the turbo, the internals are very weak and do not like when beeing over-revved. Of if you have an air leak.

I'm going with a BB myself , we'll see how it goes although my 26/27 was truly awesome.

What sort of torque might you expect with a k26/27 with standard rods?

              Cheers,

Has your motor the same rods as RS2?

I know it's quick - just don't know much about the spec.....

limited to around 400 to 420ft ft-lb on stock rods

Jamo - your k26/27 has the smaller hotsiude than the ones we use.

perfect excuse for a bigger turbo that

420 ft/lb on stock rods? thats alot of torque to be honest when you think that an RS2 turbo has bent stock rods it really hits home how powerful the I5 can be.

Thats quite low BHP and torque in reality. Compare it to Ross on a GT3071 on an S2 Coupe SPM Rods, RS2 Exhaust manifold and 3" exhaust.

Ross car is mapped MRC though

                            DYNO WAR !!!

G tech measures Net Hp after all resistances.
373hp / 280kw after wind and tyre drag is not too bad i think.
Car was tuned to mid 11's AFR in this run on 95 octane.

Minhea is helping out with further tuning advice !!

I'd have said that was quite a good comparison, the curves are pretty similar
