Help with sourcing NLA seal please

    Hi all.

I have been looking for an oil seal for a while now with not much joy.

The part number is 071115111 (071 115 111) and it is the seal that fits between the oil filter housing and the block on a B5 Passat 2.3 VR5 engine.

There are a couple of websites from Russia and Poland that list(ed) the part for sale but I can't find anywhere that actually has it available.

Added some images to show the seal.

I thought about trying to make a DIY version but I fear it would leak as it will be seeing maximum oil pressure. I will be at a stand still for getting the engine running without a seal in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Regards

    Jase.

Have you checked to see if the full head gasket set for that engine includes one?

          Thanks Dave.

I hadn't previously but I have just looked at a few kits and still can't see it in there.

The seal seems to be unique to the Passat VR5 oil cooler/engine mount too rather than the VR5/6 engine.

          The search continues

          Regards

          Jase.

            Translate this: 071115111 there is a replacement! — Volkswagen Passat B5, 2.3 l, 1999 | Consumables | DRIVE2

Looks like a Ford part will fit.

That's my thinking on spare why buy 1 hen you can have 2 for twice the price. The question is what year Ford is using them, if it's an older model then getting a few spares would be a good call.

                      So,

I have finally had time to get some work done on the car.

The seal is slightly big but with some persuasion it squeezed in!
