S2 Avant wanted

Have around 4k to spend. I'm after a nice sleeper to modify mileage isnt a issue as i want to rebuild the bottom end with some uprated rods anyway.
Just want clean body work and interior..
I'm based in hertfordshire, Stevenage .

Good choice

4k should be sufficient to get something that is pretty sound, if you're gonna mod then i suspect a good body/chassis will be the most important part as the mechanical stuff can be replaced with uprated stuff.

I'm guessing, uprated rods = big turbo

Thats Right Ross, A uprated turbo will be the order, I've always loved the avants and seems the right choice after my beloved Corrado.
This forum is very helpful so I''ll be doing alot of thread searching

sounds about right given that it is on pistonheads for 9000 euros .......

.....although the ebay advert does say that he will be willing to negotiate with the winning bidder, even if it misses the reserve - might be worth a try, although I'm not sure I would want the hassle of getting it over from Ireland

6 k is a bit out of budget as i really want to mod the car.. might be a shame to mod a RS2

6K is way too much IMO especailly at that miles.

I paid 6k for my avant with full RS2 trim and bumpers, uprated turbom exhaust, seats etc etc

Ross paid 5.25k for another Avant with full Rs2 trim and bumpers, full leather, RS2 rep alloys.

You compare that to this car for 6k bog standard at 137k? Nah!

Remind me Steve how much did you pay for your clutch / master and slave cylinder change just after buying your S2? ( shouldn't joke really with my headgasket up the swanny )

I know what your saying but there are standard Avants that are sorted going for 4.5k
