    Air intake deflector

Well I'm not entirely sure what the actual name for this is to be honest!

Basically I need the the plastic moulded part that is situated next to the drivers side head light that is used to divert air into my airbox.

At the moment I have nothing there to divert the air in and when I get stuck in traffic the heat really saps power when I get moving again.

So I *think* its the Air intake deflector thingy mahjiggy that I'm after.

Maybe someone has one kicking around that they areant using anymore and want to give away () or maybe someones looking for a small sum for me to take it off their hands.

    Can anyone help?

Rob are you undoing all my good work in the engine bay ?!

Which type of airbox did you re-install by the way?

I stuck an ABY airbox in there and it has changed the torque curve completely. Before it was completely gut wrenching in the mid range, now it doesnt seem so severe but gets more torquey lower down in the revs.

Exactly - that's what I noticed when I destroyed the old 3B airbox - the mid-range torque/ top end was stronger, but had a bit less pick up right at the bottom.

Best thing about not having the airbox was the improved access to things like the lambda, back of headlights, oh and down into all the plumbing guts for when all those boost and PCV hoses needed replacing!

one of them is the top blanking piece that's sits in runners behind the h/l
one of them is the inlet which the trumpet/funnel sits in
one of them is the trumpet/funnel, 1 end in the inlet and the other inside the airbox

none of them is the deflector , it sits just to the right of the o/s headlight and has a slight flexible rubber piece on one end

i have just got myself a rs2 air box to replace my 3b one and have the same problem but my solution to get round this. is to make a custom one from fibreglass. my plane is to make a mould of the area behind the headlight and infront of the air box with some exspanding foam in a bag to stop it sticking to every thing the onlything is how to get air to the air box as in seems the head light is blocking the path to the air box. i'll let you all know how i get on

Well at the moment I have an airbox sitting under my bonnet with a whole in it...

Nothing is connected to the hole on the front of the airbox where I should be taking air in so as you could probbaly imagine, its not an ideal set up!

I assume I would need the inlet and funnel/trumpet regardless?

Dennis, Do let me know how you get on as that sounds like a great idea!

The air box gets air via the air deflector to the right of the drivers side headlight.

When driving air is channelled in ram air fashion down the side of the headlight into the volume area of the inlet trumpet.
