    20v lump

Looking to upgrade my 10v Audi 200 as mains bearings are on the way out and figured I'd build up something juicy inbetween customers stuff to drop into my daily runner.

So looking to see what is about, basically after a 20vTurbo lump (block and head) with intake and throttle body. No exhaust mani or turbo required as I've got a turbo and the mani I'll make myself.
Doesn't matter whether the engine is running or not as the internals are being uprated anyways.
Lemme know what you guys got (I'm in Hertfordshire so preferrably a collectable distance)

    Cheers

I have a 20V NA block which is in v. good nick, just needs a clean. If you are changing the internals (pistons etc) it will def do the job. Only not got the head as that is going to NZ

good luck with the job , i fitted a 20v into my 200 q avant in febuary.... have not stopped smiling since, with 280 mtm chip i reckon it would give my rs2 a run, it feels like the car it should have been

That's good info to know. As I long for the days of my old Chevy v8's which I had to give up for family commitments. Business going well means I can now play again
However, I've been doing some sums and I'm going to go around the job slightly differently now. Originally was going 20v it aftermarket management because my existing 10v needs a crank. However just had to buy the wife a new car which has left me with half funds instead of full. So temporarily looking for a 10v crank to stick in. Then was going to get management and have a play as the K26 on there will see me to around 260-280hp as I've already rebuild the head n rings and everything else on this engine. After which later in the year I'll drop the 20v in it as it will require to be of the road for more than a day, whereas all the other steps are quick same day jobs.

So now looking for a 10v crank

If you stick in a set of ARP head studs and a metal head gasket you will be able to push her a further than 280bhp on EFi.
I may have a crank for your needs, I'll have a look.

I think you'll find though that once you EFi your 10v you will not go the route of the 20v (unless you are looking at taking the engine to above 500bhp that is?)

                Hi Corey,
Defo not looking for the 500hp mark as daily driver. If I can keep the standard 10v lump in it great as it saves a load of grief. I've got my other toy for trackday stuff so although being a power junkie I need to stay semi sensible on this one. I know in the 1.8T's and 16vT's I build I use the standard VW headbolts and they have held comfortably to 550hp with a metal headgasket to my own tried and tested torque spec so if the 300 is a comfortable achievment with a 10v then that will do the job as a daily. Lemme know on the crank as that would be great.

                Cheers JP
