the avant was designed as a B3 car, and it has the rear of lights like the audi b3 (the one up here in the pic). so if you find B3 backplate, it will fit with no mods, you only need to mod the opening handle, or buy a handle from a audi a6 C4 avant.

Modding your current handle is very easy, I did mine with 3 cuts and then got rid the slack in the mechanism by adjusting the rods.

I think its a shame the avants did not come out of the factory with it.
I may be mistaken, but I recall you can use the s4 plate surrounding aswell

AndersS2: Yes i think it is shame too, but then we just have to take matters in to our own hands.. My god your car is nice Anders.. I guess mine is getting more and more like yours on the rear, the only difference will be that you cleaned your window free for the wiper and you got the diesel look tailpipe.. I am thinkin of getting the tailpipe Breitlings got on his new RS2..
But I am really strugling with getting hold of a backplate...

and btw, when you will be putting on the panel, cut the original black piece, and put the surrounding of the numberplate lights on, it look much better with it. (in the pic)

Its made by Ferrita in sweden. The big exit is custom welded if not mistaken.
