Update on the stock brace: I was talking to Vagparts about this recently and only the right hand mount was available from Audi. Only difference is two studs for mounting the plastic cover so you can use two right hand mounts for the job

Part Number for the plate to mount a strut brace is 8A0 805 635B £8.13 each from the stealers. PLEASE note that they are described as Con Rod retain! Don't let that put you off.
About to weld some on to the rear suspension of the rally car!
I have a OMP (I think!) bolt in one for the front instead of the the standard one. Same as Audi 80/90 but I've managed to put that under some stress too.
