Just more for heavy breaking at big speeds, recon the backend would get very light under heavy braking (got a fairly large brake kit comming)

i'd be careful what you buy - AFAIK the Supra spoilers actually create lift

why not build an undertray or venturi tunnel with brushes? that works very well and is hidden under the car, unlike a big gay wing.......thus helping to prevent YMCA fanboys chatting you up

i'd avoid those if you want downforce - they actually create lift

I would avoid the reiger kit full stop. IMVHO it completely ruins the lines of a classic coupe....

                      Each to their own though.

                      Cheers,

                      Steve.

                          Ahhhh ....spoilers!!

                          My pet hate!!!

Nearly everything you can buy is useless ....most don't have a genuine aerofoil section to them, and a huge number are designed as styling exercises with the majority of the device totally masked by the cockpit area of the car.

To be honest, I think that you'd be better off with a front splitter to lock the front of the car down under braking ...but without recourse to testing, you cannot prove much - air does funny things that you cannot always predict.

If you want a rear wing that works, it needs to be (a) a proper functioning aerofoil section (one element or two elements with a slot gap, even more for low speed use), (b) wide enough that it is not entirely masked by the cockpit, (c) high enough in the air for much the same reason, and (d) if possible, overhanging the rear of the car as much as possible, also to get the wing in clean air but on top of that, to increase the leverage imparted on the car.

And if you're not going above much more than 80mph, it really will need to be big.

Furthermore, aerofoils are a most inefficient way to create downforce (they cause a lot of drag for the negative lift they create) - using the underside of a car is much more effective, though a little impractical for road cars given that you need to keep the car close to the ground, and need to clean up the underside features with floor sections.

It should also be noted that aero devices tend to affect other areas ....sometimes a gain made in one area will cause a loss in another area, which turns out to be a net loss overall. Be very careful when applying "finger in the wind" assumptions to aerodynamics!!!

very true. aero is a dark art.

why not just get bigger rear brakes?
