Wanted: 3B A/C condensor and pipes/sensors

I need whatever lives in the engine bay. I don't have any experience with A/C so I don't know if the condensor is something that should be changed ant any point. Bought the car without engine, xmember, rads etc and i'll be fitting my own but don't know exactly what i'm missing or where it goes. But i'll need to buy them off someone if I want the A/C to work.

also - where's good to get a new receiver/dryer? vagparts i assume?

I am to searching for some info/documentation on the AC system since I am going to build one... So a system description or a parts catalogue would have been great!

Hey i don`t no if this is of any help.


My problem is that my 3b need a new condensor and when I hear the price
Then I talk to an coolersmith he said that he able to find one for me...
Then a few days later he call at asked if the condensor is with millimetre or inch thread
Then I turn back to my audi dealer and ask nice (I know some one) if I could get the sparepart number
and then she hand me this print.

The different between the condensor with millimetre thread and the one with inch thread is that the one with millimetre is for an Aby and the one with inch is for an 3b.

the a/c is not a cheap system to do anything on on the s2 thats safe to say!!! have you tried someone line all audi to see if they have an s2 breaker with a/c that you could take the pipes and rad from....as long as the system is in reasonable shape you should be ok, just will need some kind of flush or deep vacuum once its all together to ensure its tight and clean before a gas up

I was kinda hoping someone on here would have the bits to sell but no luck so far. is the condenser a seperate radiator type thing then? I'll see about a breaker. is 'line all audi' the name of a breaker?

cheers Casper. I think i'll be buying the same soon. I'm just waiting for sal to see if he has a/c in a car he's getting in so maybe I can make do with used parts. Hey, with no engine in the car the a/c isn't by greatest worry.
PS - your english is fine. I'm sitting in finland with my wife's family, who are Russian. I feel pretty stupid about only speaking english right now. my finnish and russian aren't very good.

Heh, i was working loads in Finland a few years back, best phrase i was ever given was something like:

Re a/c pipes, my local Pirtek said they are just stocking up to do pipes for aircon systems, so should be able to make up a lot of stuff MUCH cheaper than oem
