compression tester to buy or borrow.

Looking to test the compression on my 3b as i am having no end of problems with the lumpy running of the car. One suggestion was to test the compression but i don't have the equipment to do this.

Can anyone lend me one or suggest where to buy one. I am a little loathed to buy as i will only probably use this once.

Phone mcgreger industrial supplies and ask for a sykes pickavant compression tester i think them ship to the islands as well if not let me know and i will price one through my highland council discount for ya

A leak down tester will tell you more than a comp tester ever could.
Do what I did, buy one on ebay for £30, use it, diagnose the problem, put it back on Ebay and sell it for £40

Do i need to specify any details or look for anything special when looking for a leakdown or compression tester on Ebay.

Nope, they're fairly standard and tend to come with adaptors for both spark plug types.
Oh, you will need a compressor if you're going to use a leak down tester.
