    VAG3256 Crank Locking Tool

Needed for ABY with aircon. Just ordered up all the parts and remembered I don't have zee tool. Can I borrow one if someone has it - I'll cover postage both ways of course... Or if anyone is selling one ?

PS - I seem to recall that 3256 doesnt fit perfectly without some sort of spacer with the tool. I don't think VAG2084 works on the ac equipped ABY - or maybe it does if I remove the compressor first ?

      David,
I had forgotten you had the crank locking tool ! Feel free to send it to Paul.
@ Paul, i can get my brother to collect it from you sometime ( there's no panic ) so as to keep postage costs down ( unless David needs it ? ).
@ David, whats the latest with both S2 & jetta ??

      Regards,
      John.

Tremendous - I might be in the Dublin area tomorrow or Thursday this week. Been failing spectactularly to meet up with mcandmar on such recent trips - such is life.

I'll send a PM to David and see what can be arranged in a hurry.

        Thanks again !

          Send pm with Mobile

Paul, send me a pm with your mobile and I'll phone you and make arrangements to loan it to you tomorrow. Once you advise me of the places you'll be near/passing through I can hook up with you tomorrow.

I'd be happy to return the courtesy you extended to me vis-à-vis the diagnosis of the blown head gasket on my S2 Avant in Mark's house last year.

Thanks to David for the drive-by loaning of said locking tool. Good to get a quick chat too.

Turns out this one is a modified 2084 tool that has been used on RS2 and ABY before now. I'll post a pic of the two lil welded additions and of course there will be a blow-by-blow description with photos of the timing belt work - unless young Andy beats me to it - perdy likely
