    UrS4/6 Passenger side headlamp

    Hi all,

Just returned from my 4052km EU trip to slovakia an back and the Audi broke the 200000 mile barrier. Still running strong.. no smoke etc....

Anyway something did go wrong however:
Some way or another the low beams in my 3 lens headlamp assembly managed to melt the reflector part at the back so now I am looking for:

Passenger side (RHD) headlamp assembly of the 3 lens kind.

Do anyone have any or know of a source that wont cost an arm and a leg?

    Thank you in advance

Congrats on surviving such a long road trip. I dread to think what your fuel bill was ...! :

Just a note of caution - I'm pretty sure the urS4 and urS6 headlights aren't interchangeable (but I may be wrong).

      Thanks Andrew,
Fuel bill wasn't that bad actually... cheaper thank flying and averaged about 25mpg with quite long sessions (through germany) at 100mph....

For the C4 range if I'm not mistaken I think there was a single lens headlamp and then the one with the 3 lenses, which is what I have/need. This would be the ones to which aftermarket xenon kits can be fitted if i remember correctly.

25mpg is not too bad when 'making progress' like that! I'd love to do a big transcontinental trip in mine to visit mates in Italy and Switzerland but the fuel bills and cost of a decent set of winter tyres has put me off a bit!

Aside from keeping an eye on eBay for any cars being broken, you could try www.4ringspares.co.uk? And there's a list of Audi dismantlers / breakers here, although not sure how up to date it is? Good luck.

I went with summer tyres(Dunlop SP 01) and snowchains... had a couple of hairy moments in the tatras on ice at -12C.... but it was worth it...

I wanted to have the cambelt done but everyone was full up so i just did an inspection and decided to take the chance.... but now its a priority with the headlight...

C4 S4 and C4 S6 headlights are different as others have suggested. Compared to the "Euro" versions of the same headlights, the UK RHD version of these headlights are made of plastic. If you install more than the original 55W low beam bulbs, you are taking a risk that the bulbs will melt the housing. The risk at 65W (running a high beam bulb in the low beam position) is *relatively* low; however, running an 80W or 100W bulb in the low beam position is almost certainly going to melt the housing over time.

Good luck finding a RHD C4 S4 headlight assembly.
