cat or decat pipe for early 20v coupe

Need somethign to replace the Cat pipe on my fwd 20v coupe.
mine is cracked and blowing - needs replacing for the MOT.
Had some STUPID quotes (like over £100) to make up a bit of pipe to replace so just wondered if anyone has anything knocking about what might help me.
my car is pre-cat and early type with tubular manifold so a suitable straight through pipe would help, or an old cat that i can just bolt straight up - quite urgent as MOT is due soon and i need this sorted in the next week or so.

My Azman has said he might have something for me, but not 100% - can anyone help me with this?

probably - likely they cost more than the bloody cars worth though, hence me not looking down that route

Could ask audibits2 if he has one lying around from a car he's broke. Is it possible to repair the old one by welding it for the mot?

Error why don't you do it by yourself? Buy a used cat on any junkyard if you want... use some 2.5inches tube, two bottle mufflers, take note about the curves it must do and you're done. or you prefer the whole OEM stuff?

no i just can't weld for sh*t

i can repair it, but that means findind someone to do it and taking time off work to get it done. Replacing it is the easiest option as things stand at the moment.

yes mate sounds about right.. its for the tubular fanny-mould version - i think its a 4 bolt flange at manifold end, sleeved joint to mid-section

although its supposed to have a silencer behind the cat - mine has had a straight pipe welded onto the cat at some point - its this joint at the back of the cat that is fubar'd

I think there is a small link pipe that comes off the tubular manifold and then connects to the cat IIRC. pt no 893253101BC if i have read vag cat right oh and it's 3 bolt flanges either end

Well...

I have a part that fits from the 3 bolt spagetti manifold to the first box...tis up to you.

sounds like the bit you've got there is the elbow between the manifold and the cat

This goes all the way to the first box in the middle of the car...bout 4 nd narf foot long.
